Live-in Care

Live-in care in Oxford and Oxfordshire

Round-the-clock support from one carer who shares your home and learns your ways.

There is a particular comfort in your own surroundings: the creak of a familiar staircase, a favourite armchair, the view of a garden you planted. Live-in care protects all of that while bringing in the help that has become necessary.

Your carer becomes part of the household for weeks at a time. Days follow your rhythm, not a visiting schedule, and there is reassurance in knowing someone is there after dark.

Is this right for you?

Families usually get in touch when:

  • Several daily visits would be needed, and even then evenings feel long
  • There have been falls, or family worry about nights alone
  • A move to residential care is being discussed but isn't wanted
  • Relatives live in London or abroad and cannot be close at hand

Household
Laundry, tidying, shopping and keeping the home as you like it
Life beyond the front door
Walks, coffee in town, church, clubs and visits to friends

Getting started

  1. 01

    A conversation

Tell us about the person and what is happening at the moment.

  2. 02

    A visit

We come to the home, meet everyone involved and agree a care plan.

  3. 03

    An introduction

You meet suitable carers and decide who to welcome.

The Oxfordshire picture

Residential fees in Oxfordshire sit towards the top of the national range. Once needs are substantial - and certainly for a couple - a resident carer frequently proves the more economical route, quite apart from the comfort of home.

Questions we're asked

A furnished bedroom for their sole use, access to a bathroom and the kitchen, and wifi if you have it. We'll check the arrangements at the home visit.

Carers take around two hours off each day and have regular weeks off. We arrange a familiar replacement for those periods so there is never a gap.

When it's urgent, often within a few days of the assessment. Planned arrangements usually take one to two weeks.
